Hello,
For maths we've been doing something called 'Problem Solving' you get into groups and you get given a hard problem which you need to solve with your group. We only do that on Wednesdays and Thursdays though. On Mondays and Tuesdays we either do a Workshop to learn something new in maths, play Mathletics, or do Maintenance.
For R.E. we are doing a Lent strand. We have been learning about

First Blog of 2020
Kia ora!
Hi again, it has been a while. This is my first post for the year, so I hope you like it!
This years theme for the school will be change. So at lunchtime, the teachers go around giving 'changemaker' awards. If you get one, you leave it in a bucket so that in assembly, year 8s will dip their hand in the bucket and if they pull out your name, you go up and get a $2 dollar award. This could be a fancy pencil, a stationary kit, bookmark, stickers, etc. It's really funny because when the year 8s go up they're in a caterpillar or butterfly costume showing 'change' in how the caterpillar became a butterfly.
We started a reading activity called Chapter Challenge. It's a cool activity where we listen to a book or a read the book and then, from that, we do activities based on the story like; draw a mechanical horse, make a catapult, do research on old money called sovereigns, write a new song for a character to sing, etc. THEN once you've done that, on Friday you go onto Twitter and post all your work for a few other schools to see. Of course, the other schools post work as well for you to look at. And, that's really the gist of it. Here's a piece of my work:
It's a catapult made from K'nex bricks. It was one of the many activities.
We had swimming sports, that was a bit of fun although, I'm not a swimmer. Luckily I got to the finals in freestyle, but my streak of luck died and I didn't get to zones.
